My Priorities

Below you can find both my top priorities as well as some concerning votes my opponent has cast during his time in the Connecticut General Assembly.

Affordability & Economic Security

Affordability and economic security are central challenges for District 21 and Connecticut. Families are struggling with housing costs, property taxes, electricity bills, groceries, and child care. At the same time, we must strengthen public education, expand access to good-paying jobs, and ensure that communities have the resources they need to thrive.

If elected, I will advocate for a state child tax credit, meaningful property-tax relief, more affordable child care, and workforce development that connects residents to sustainable careers. I believe we can make progress by bringing people together around shared priorities, evaluating policies by their results, and making responsible choices with public dollars. Connecticut should be a place where working hard gives families a fair chance to get ahead.

Affordability & Energy Costs

Connecticut families should not have to choose between paying their electric bill and meeting other basic needs. Addressing affordability requires utility accountability, more affordable energy, and responsible management of public resources.

I will push for greater scrutiny of utility costs, transparent electricity-rate decisions, and more affordable energy supplies without sacrificing reliability. I would support energy-efficiency programs that lower household and small-business bills, along with assistance for residents struggling to afford utilities. We must protect essential public services while ensuring families and businesses can afford to live and work in Connecticut.

Affordability & Housing

Connecticut needs more housing people can afford, including options for working families, young adults, and seniors who want to remain in their communities. Housing policy must also account for infrastructure, school capacity, transportation, and neighborhood character.

I support collaboration among municipalities, regional partners, developers, and residents to identify appropriate locations for housing and plan for growth. We should encourage diverse options, including smaller homes, apartments, and affordable and workforce housing, alongside investments in supporting infrastructure. Local voices matter, as does our responsibility to address the housing shortage. As State Senator, I will advance policies that expand housing choices, respect legitimate local planning concerns, and help communities accommodate growth responsibly.
